The challenge

Rheem Australia, a prominent hot water heater manufacturer and service provider, embarked on a journey to enhance employee skills, promote team collaboration, and ensure a smooth transition for a significant upcoming project. They recognised a knowledge gap in foundational change management principles and communication strategies within their organisation, that were impeding Rheem's ability to navigate the upcoming transformation effectively.

Rheem sought training to address this issue and align the workforce with transformation objectives, crucial for the project's success.

Given the scale of the project, it was imperative to ensure that stakeholders' needs were understood and individual team change management efforts aligned with the overarching project plan. Rheem sought a comprehensive solution that would address these challenges and boost their team's motivation and expertise.

The decisive factor influencing Rheem's training choice was the expertise and dynamic presence of CCE facilitator Dominic Siow, whom they believed would inspire and engage their team effectively.

Our solution

Rheem initiated transparent discussions regarding the impending changes with their workforce prior to enterprise agreement negotiations This strategic approach significantly contributed to the effective delivery of our training.

CCE provided a solution designed to meet Rheem's specific requirements. The "Change Management for Organisations" course was delivered in a face-to-face format to a group of ten participants in Sydney.

The training sessions covered a range of crucial topics and skills, including change management considerations, planning, roles, dealing with people during change, and the application of change management models. The materials were thoughtfully customised to align with Rheem's specific organisational needs and readiness for the impending changes.

The success of the initial course prompted Rheem to extend the program's impact to their team in Vietnam. To accomplish this, CCE’s facilitator delivered the "Change Management Course for Organisations" to a further 26 participants.

The outcome

The impact of CCE's training program was transformative and evident at Rheem Australia. Employees left the program with a clear plan and actionable steps for forming a comprehensive change management and communication plan. This resulted in a noticeable increase in employee engagement and a more collaborative and empowered team, which proved invaluable to the project's success.

Specific success stories emerged from the training, with the formation of the change management and communication plan. Importantly, employees continue to apply the skills and knowledge gained from the training in their daily work, solidifying the positive shift in attitude and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Dominic Siow's role as the facilitator continued to be celebrated and discussed as a driving force behind the improved morale and motivation within the organisation.
