The challenge
The Northern Territory Primary Health Network (NTPHN) sought to strengthen staff capabilities in Power BI to improve data analysis, enhance reporting quality, and support data-driven decision-making. Key priorities included standardising reporting practices, aligning them with best-practice principles, and reducing reliance on external support.
While some staff had experience with Power BI, skill levels varied. To address this, NTPHN pursued a training solution to close these gaps, build foundational and advanced skills, and enable staff to produce consistent, impactful reports independently.
After evaluating several options, NTPHN selected CCE for our reputation in delivering practical, industry-focused training. We offered tailored content and flexible online sessions, ensuring team members from different time zones could participate in an engaging and interactive learning environment.

Our solution
CCE delivered training from our comprehensive course range to meet NTPHN’s specific goals. The program included a mix of foundational and advanced sessions to address skill gaps and build technical proficiency.
The training program included Power BI Course: Level 1, which introduced participants to the basics of navigating and using the platform effectively, and Power BI Course: Level 2A, which focused on intermediate skills for more complex data analysis and reporting. A Power BI Course: Level 2B is also scheduled for next year to further advance participants’ technical capabilities.
Conducted online via Microsoft Teams, the training was designed to meet the needs of the business. Full-day sessions were scheduled in Northern Territory time, ensuring accessibility and convenience for all participants.
Each session featured interactive, hands-on exercises to encourage immediate application of new skills. Facilitators drew on their extensive industry experience to provide practical examples and insights, keeping participants engaged and focused throughout.
This engagement built on a strong relationship between NTPHN and CCE, with staff previously attending courses in Project Management, Minute Taking, Excel, and Lean Six Sigma. The decision to expand training to Power BI reflected NTPHN’s commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth.

"The recent Power BI course was incredibly valuable for anyone seeking to deepen their understanding of the platform. Although I’m not new to Power BI, I discovered new tips and tricks while also reinforcing my existing knowledge. The content was highly relevant, easy to follow, and delivered in a clear and concise manner. I particularly appreciated the opportunity to follow along and complete hands-on labs during the class, as they provided practical experience that solidified what I had just learned.”

“I found the Power BI course quite helpful. The training session was interactive and well organised. The content covered was relevant and applicable in our daily work. It suited both beginners and those who already had experience leveraging Power BI. The part I liked the most was the content that helped me enhance my ability to analyse and create suitable charts.”
