The challenge
CPB Contractors is one of Australia’s largest construction firms, with 23,000 employees across Australasia. Its increasingly diverse project portfolio includes roads, tunnels, railways, airports, natural resources infrastructure, and high-rise commercial and residential buildings. With more diverse team members collaborating on more projects at various stages, CPB saw a need to move away from traditional spreadsheets and embrace more meaningful business storytelling using the Power BI application.
This remarkable data visualisation tool was already in use by other teams. CPB recognised its potential to highlight business results and opportunities in an engaging way, and engaged CCE to design the training in Power BI.

Our solution
Drawing on its rigorous approach to designing professional development, CCE began by identifying the team’s current skill levels and emerging requirements. We worked closely with our presenter to select the Power BI Course: Level 1 as our basis. Several custom modifications were made, to suit the construction context. The training was delivered as a series of online webinar-style workshops, involving a mix of tuition, discussion and hands-on exercises.
