The challenge
Dental products distribution giant Henry Schein offers thousands of sophisticated products for dental clinics. These range from full treatment units to chairside 3D printers, surgical tools, anaesthetics and much in between. With so much choice, training is a valuable service that Henry Schein offers its customers. The training helps dentists understand which products their clinics are best to: whether ergonomic, durable, high-tech or something else, and how to get the most out of their investments. Henry Schein wanted to ensure all training followed a consistent structure, and engaged CCE to deliver guidance in this skillset.
Our solution
In collaboration with our facilitator, Darren Lott, CCE delivered a customised version of our popular Designing and Delivering Training and Assessments Course. The training was delivered to 20 Henry Schein staff in various roles, including sales, customer service, marketing and technical support. Participants learned how to structure and sequence learning materials while responding to different learners’ grasp of the subject matter. Other topics included an overview of learning styles, modes of delivery, how to capture and retain attention, and how to maximise the learning outcomes.
The outcome
Post-training, Henry Schein staff described an overwhelmingly positive response to the workshop. The training has given them dozens of tools and templates to use. Henry Schein’s staff have noticed various improvements since the course, such as being able to stick to the allocated time, and using more interactive or engaging devices. Overall, the training has helped boost the team’s confidence and establish a range of best practices at Henry Schein.
"Our staff are now confident they can deliver more structured and engaging workshops. As a result of the training, they have learned to communicate their training objectives more clearly to our customers, helping dentists understand what they can do differently."
