Win a $300 course voucher at CCE

We want to know what you think of courses and we want to know more about you.

In the CCE building, there are survey computers located in our foyer and in the lunch areas on level two and three. Complete a survey on one of these computers and you will go into the draw for that month to win a $300 course voucher to be used toward any course at CCE.

How to enter: Complete a survey on the survey computers on-site at CCE. At the end of the survey you will be asked: Tell us in 25 words or less why lifelong learning is important to you. This is a game of skill and the winner is chosen according to the creativity and thought put into the answer.

End date: This is a rolling competition, running from month-to-month. Each entry will go into the draw for that month. All entries are drawn on the first of the month and all winners will be notified within five days of the draw.

Terms and conditions

  1. Information on how to enter forms part of these terms of entry. Entry into the Promotion is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  2. The Promoter is the Centre for Continuing Education.

How to enter

  1. Employees of the Promoter or any related body corporate and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
  2. Entrants under the age of 16 years must have parental/guardian approval to enter. The parent/guardian agrees to the terms and conditions of the Promotion.
  3. The courses offered by the Promoter are designed for adults over the age of 18. The only exceptions to this are the courses found in the ‘HSC preparation’ section of our website.
  4. For the purposes of these terms and conditions, an “eligible entrant” is a person who has complied with these terms and conditions.
  5. To enter, eligible entrants must enter the Promotion by answering all questions within a survey and including the final question within the survey.
  6. The survey is located on computers within the Promoter’s building at the address 160 Missenden Road Newtown, Sydney, NSW. The computers are area accessible to the public in the building foyer and the lunch rooms on levels two and three. All entrants must physically attend this location and complete the survey on one of these computers.
  7. The question to be answered is 'Tell us in 25 words or less why lifelong learning is important to you.'
  8. This is a game of skill.

Prizes and judging

  1. There is a monthly prize of $300 to go to one eligible entrant each month.
  2. The competition period runs from the first day to the last day of the calendar month inclusive.
  3. Each eligible entry is only eligible to be awarded a voucher for the month of the competition period they have entered.
  4. The competition for each month will be drawn on the first day of the following month at 11am. In the event that this date falls on the weekend, the winner will be drawn on the following business day.
  5. The winner will be decided by two employees of the Promoter in consultation with one another.
  6. The winner will be judged on the creativity and thought put into their answer, as decided by the Promoters staff nominated to judge the competition.
  7. All winners will be notified by email within five business days of the competition being judged.
  8. The winners' names will be published on the Promoters website and will remain there for a minimum period of at least three months.
  9. The Promoter’s decision is final and the Promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the promotion result or enforcement and interpretation of these terms and conditions.

Privacy

  1. The Promoter collects the entrant’s personal information for the purpose of conducting and promoting this promotion (including but not limited to determining and notifying the winner). If the entrant is not willing for this to occur the entrant cannot participate in the Promotion.

Sydney Writer’s Festival Competition

In celebration of the Sydney Writers' Festival, the Centre for Continuing Education is giving away three, $500 course vouchers to spend on a creative writing course of your choice. All creative writing courses appear in the creative writing section of the website.

How to enter: To win, enter your details, and in 25 words or less, tell us why lifelong learning is important to your continued writing practice?

Come along to our stand at Open Day 2019, enter our competition and receive a 10% off discount code to be used on any of our HSC prepartion courses (valid for six months). You will also go into the draw to win a $300 course voucher to be used on any CCE course.

How to enter:Come along to our stand at Open Day 2019 and complete the form located on computers at our stand. As a condition of entry, all competition entrants agree to join the CCE mailing list. At the end of the entry form, you will be asked: In 25 words or less, tell us what HSC preparation course you would like to take and why? (It does NOT have to be a course that we currently offer!)

End date: 31 August 2019, 4pm

Part A





How to enter

  1. Attend the Centre for Continuing Education’s stand at the University of Sydney’s Open Day 2019, 31 August 2019, from 9am – 4pm;

  2. The stand will be located in the main Quadrangle on the University of Sydney campus, Darlington;

  3. Enter the competition by filling out the form on computers located at the stand;

  4. In the form, tell us In 25 words or less, tell us what HSC preparation course you would like to take and why? (It does NOT have to be a course that we currently offer);

  5. Enter all details requested in the form

  6. By completing the form, you agree to be added to the CCE mailing list;

  7. Complete the survey on the computer; and

  8. Submit your survey response.


Prize(s)

All competition entrants will receive a voucher code to use on any CCE HSC course for six months, until 2 March 2020.
Three vouchers to the value of $300 will be awarded to three competition entrants. The vouchers can be redeemed on any CCE course.


Competition period

The competition runs from 9am, 31 August 2019 – 4pm 31 August 2019


Who may enter

All competition entrants under the age of 18 must have guardian/parental permission to enter this competition.


The following persons are ineligible to enter the competition:


An employee or immediate family member of an employee of the Centre for Continuing Education or any related body corporate.


Maximum number of entries per individual entrant

One entry per individual entrant. This competition is open to individual entries only. Group entries will be considered invalid

Judging process

The winner will be decided by two employees of the Centre for Continuing Education in consultation with one another based on the Judging criteria.

Judging criteria

Entries will be judged according to creativity and originality.

Judging date

The winners will be decided on 2 September 2019.

Prize winner notification

Winners will be notified by email within five business days after the judging date.

Claiming the prize

Winners will be issued a credit voucher, with voucher code, by email. To redeem the voucher, entrants must enrol in a course online and enter the voucher code in the checkout window.

Special conditions

  1. All competition winners agree to have their names published on the CCE website for a minimum of three months.
  2. All entrants agree to provide the Promoter with proof of identity, residency, age and/or proof of entry validity if reasonably requested by the Promoter.Proof of age, identification, residency and entry considered suitable for verification is at the sole discretion of the Promoter. In the event that a prize winner cannot provide suitable proof, that prize winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.


Part B


Part B – Terms & Conditions for University Competition


  1. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to the game of skill described in Part A (the “Competition”).

  2. The Competition will be conducted by The University of Sydney (ABN 15 211 513 464 and CRICOS Number 00026A) (the “Promoter”) during the period specified in Part A (the “Competition Period”).

  3. The Terms may be amended or replaced by the Promoter in its absolute discretion and at any time.

  4. Entry into the Competition is deemed acceptance of the Terms (as amended from time to time).

  5. Entry is open only to residents of New South Wales who comply with any entry restrictions specified in these Terms.

  6. To enter the Competition, entrants must, during the Competition Period, follow the entry method and instructions specified in Part A.

  7. Entries must be received by the Promoter during the Competition Period. Entrants may submit up to the maximum number of entries specified in Part A. Multiple entries (where permitted) must be submitted separately and if the Competition requires the submission of a creative work, each entry by the same entrant must be unique and original. If an entrant submits multiple entries in excess of the permitted maximum, only the entry or entries most recently submitted (up to the permitted maximum) will be accepted by the Promoter.

  8. If entrants are invited to answer a question, send in comments, photos and/or videos (or other multimedia) as part of their entry, each entry must be an original work by the entrant and the entrant must have obtained the permission from all persons appearing in photos/videos and property owners to enter this competition in accordance with the Terms. Each entrant warrants that their entry is not, and its use by the Promoter or other persons will not infringe the rights (including intellectual property rights) of any third party.

  9. Each entrant is responsible for notifying the Promoter of any changes to his/her residential address, email address or phone number during and after the Competition Period.

  10. The Competition is a game of skill, chance plays no part in determining the winner/s and each validly submitted entry will be individually judged by representatives of the Promoter as specified in Part A, on the basis of originality and creativity, and according to any other criteria specified or adopted by the Promoter.

  11. A decision of the Promoter in relation to the conduct of the Competition, including the selection of winning entries, is binding and conclusive and no correspondence will be entered into.

  12. Unless otherwise specified in Part A, winners will be notified by phone and/or email within 2 business days after the judging date. Each entrant consents to the Promoter publishing details of a winner or winning entry on its website.

  13. Unless otherwise specified in Part A, prizes must be claimed within 1 month of the judging date. If a prize is event-based or contains perishable goods, the prizes will be forfeited in full if not claimed by their expiry date. If a prize is not claimed within the specified time, the Promoter may, at its discretion, withdraw the prize or award the prize to the next best valid entry or entries.

  14. Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash. The prizes or any element of the prizes cannot be exchanged for any other prize/s. The contents of the prizes will be at the Promoter’s sole discretion.

  15. If the prize includes vouchers or tickets, the prize is valid until the expiry date specified on the voucher or ticket (or its provider), and subject to the conditions stipulated by the provider. Such prizes cannot be redeemed for further vouchers or tickets, and are not exchangeable for cash.

  16. If a prize involves the winner or winning entry participating in an event, if any part of the event is postponed, cancelled or varied for any reason, then at the Promoter’s discretion, the winner forfeits all rights to participate in the relevant event and no cash or alternative prize will be substituted for that element of the prize.

  17. Any expense, including taxes, spare parts, maintenance or delivery costs, associated with accepting, taking or using a prize, will be the prize winner’s sole responsibility.

  18. The Promoter makes no warranties or representations about the fitness for purpose or suitability of any prize and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness for any purpose of any prize, or the failure of any prize to be of merchantable quality. If liability under terms implied by legislation cannot be excluded by the Promoter, the liability of the Promoter is limited to re-supplying the relevant goods or services or paying the cost of replacing them.

  19. No responsibility will be taken by the Promoter for any changes in dates, times or cancellations or other arrangements that may prevent a winner from accepting, taking or using a prize.

  20. The Promoter may, in its absolute discretion, disqualify:

    1. any entry which is not original, is not completed in accordance with these Terms, infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party, contains any objectionable or poor quality content, or has the potential to damage the reputation of any person; or

    2. any individual who tampers with the entry process, submits an entry that is not in accordance with the Terms, or who has in the opinion of the Promoter, engaged in unlawful or improper conduct that is designed to, or is likely to, adversely affect the fair and proper conduct of the Competition or is generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Promoter.

  21. The Promoter reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, at any time before the awarding of the prizes to cancel or vary a competition, or cancel, vary or withdraw its prizes. If the Promoter cancels or varies a competition, or cancels, varies or withdraws its prizes, is not:

    1. liable to any person for any costs, loss or damage whatsoever arising out of, or in connection with, such cancellation, variation or withdrawal; or

    2. required to conduct the Competition at any other time.

  22. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost, incorrectly submitted or misdirected entries, for any technological malfunction or failure, Internet traffic congestion, or for outdated or incorrect contact details by which the entrant cannot be contacted during business hours on relevant dates.

  23. Entrants enter the Competition at their sole risk. With the exception of liability which cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter is not be liable for, and an entrant releases the Promoter from, liabilities relating to any direct or indirect loss or damage which is suffered, or for personal injury or sickness suffered or sustained, as a result of entering the Competition, failing to win, winning, accepting or using a prize.

  24. Any information or material provided by entrants to the Promoter when entering the Competition will be used by the Promoter for the purpose of promoting the purpose of the Competition, conducting the Competition, administering the prizes and as otherwise specified in these Terms. The Promoter may use any personal information in accordance with its privacy policy available at its website http://sydney.edu.au. Entrants may access and correct their personal information held by the Promoter, upon request to the Promoter.
