The challenge

Like many organisations, Unions NSW had undergone much change during the lockdowns of the pandemic. Organisational flaws and inefficiencies were starting to cause frustration, made worse by the fact the whole team was working remotely. In an earlier survey, Unions NSW staff had identified project management as being their most critical skills gap.

CCE offers several industry-acclaimed courses and experienced facilitators in this field, and Unions NSW found the course description met their requirements. Of particular interest was the workshop’s premise of delivering a project management framework that could be adapted to different tasks and roles across the organisation.

Our solution

CCE’s presenter was able to adapt the content with the client’s requirements in mind, including delivering the three-day program via Zoom. Staff were introduced to high-level approaches to project management, essential tools to use, and insights into other skills to foster later. They gained a first-hand understanding on how to deploy various project management tools to their specific roles, across different levels and small as well as large projects.

Courses

The outcome

The workshop has helped to instigate across-the-board changes at Unions NSW, improving efficiency, accountability, organisational and other skills. Through correct planning from the outset, the team is improving service delivery and minimising last-minute stresses.

"The Project Management Course was highly scalable to many different levels of everyday work - from massive projects to smaller, everyday tasks. We have made a commitment as a team to implement the training in our daily work life"
