The challenge
As Australia’s pioneering food delivery firm, Menulog has been on a growth trajectory since launching in 2006. The company is known for its commitment to staff professional development and training across a range of areas. One topic that staff had shown particular interest in was leadership, especially from among aspiring leaders of the business. The group approached CCE to deliver its Women in Leadership course, helping learn to identify and deal with the unique challenges faced by women aiming to perform at their peak.

Our solution
The Women in Leadership course draws on industry best practice from around the globe, and devotes a large amount of time to discussion and role play. The content can be easily tailored to specific corporate settings, without requiring extra customisation. The 25 participants who attended the inhouse training at Menulog started with a look at the confidence issues and systemic or cultural factors that can block success, before exploring various tactics to overcome this. These included knowing how to establish credibility, set a compelling vision – something that female leaders are perceived to lack – and build a strong team.

View profileThe outcome
Packed with robust discussion and valuable practice exercises, the full-day workshop was an exciting opportunity for the staff to both establish individual goals and learn new skills. After the course, the Menulog team was unanimous in describing how inspired and empowered they felt to continue working towards their leadership goals. The day also served as a platform for building relationships with colleagues across different areas of the business.
Building on the success of the initial training led Menulog to return to CCE for further training the following year. The collaboration between Menulog and CCE continued as they recognised the value in investing in the ongoing development of their staff's skills and knowledge.
"The Women in Leadership Course was an excellent introduction into the world of female leadership within the workplace and beyond. We explored ways to combat imposter syndrome, as well as how to increase your confidence, visibility and voice within the workplace. Overall, it was great to connect with other current and emerging female leaders at Menulog, and to learn and develop further in this area."
“The course was incredible! It was a day filled with insightful learnings and opportunities to talk about things you struggle with, but are not always comfortable raising. It was great to be surrounded by women who are on the same path of wanting to exceed within their leadership journey.”
