Mona Seidler

Mona graduated from the University of Passau (Germany) in 2016, where she studied in a teacher education programme. While working as a language assistant for six months at a secondary school in London, Mona gained a first insight into teaching German as a foreign language. After finishing university, she worked in the field of German as a second language and taught refugees in Germany. Since April 2017, Mona has been enthusiastically teaching German at language Institutes around Sydney. She has not only been teaching language classes at different levels, but has also been working as a tutor.

Margot holds a Master of Arts degree (Interpreting and Translation) from the University of Western Sydney and a Graduate Diploma degree from the University of Technology, Sydney (International Studies). She has been teaching German,Interpreting, Translation and Applied Linguistics at the University of Western Sydney and at the University of New South Wales, and all levels of German at the Goethe Institut Sydney. Margot has been working internationally as a simultaneous interpreter and translator since 1986.

Organized and participated in Urdu lectures, seminars and orientation courses.

Or is a skilled teacher and instructor with over 10 years of experience. Originally from Israel where he worked as an instructor for a governmental agency, Or is now living and working in Sydney. He holds a Bachelor degree in International Relations from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and he trained at the Hebrew School “Discovering Hebrew” with Trainer and University Lecturer Galit Rieder-Ezra. Currently Or is teaching Hebrew and Jewish Studies to students of various ages, including school students and adults, as well as writing lesson plans and translating. Or enjoys sharing his love of the Hebrew language and culture with all of his students and is looking forward to welcoming you to his class.

Eleanor Shakiba

Eleanor Shakiba is an expert in positive psychology. She has taught over 50,000 people to think and speak in ways which build success.

Eleanor started her career as a writer. Next, she discovered a passion for adult education and moved into a training role at the University of Sydney. Today, she works as a training consultant and corporate coach. She specialises in the areas of communication skills, applied psychology and business applications of positive psychology.

The focus of Eleanor’s work is teaching technically savvy professionals to create, relate and communicate. She delivers a range of services to the corporate world, including positive psychology courses; leadership training and coaching; team building and strategic planning sessions; communication and conflict resolution workshops.

Eleanor is the author of Difficult People Made Easy and is currently writing her second book, 6 Habits of Savvy Female Negotiators. She has also created over ninety training programs and a range of online learning courses.

Eleanor is qualified in Social Anthropology, Adult Education, Counselling and Positive Psychology. She delights in helping professionals learn skills for success in the real world, using experiential (interactive) learning techniques. Her students describe Eleanor as ‘a lively and enthusiastic presenter who can keep you engaged for hours.’

Mia Sharma

Resume

Mia is an experienced HSC marker and setter. She has been teaching or tutoring Science for more than 15 years, and was awarded the NSW Scientist of the Year for Leadership in Teaching and Learning in 2010. She has been Head of Science at International Grammar School and now works at a number of places including Ascham School, University of Sydney, University of Technology Sydney (UTS), NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), Association of Independent Schools (AIS), Crispy Coaching and RiskAssess. When Mia was a student, she came First in the HSC in Earth and Environmental Science. Mia holds a Bachelor of Science (Advanced) with a double major in Anatomy & Histology and Geology, and a Graduate Diploma of Education. She is accredited by NESA as a Proficient Teacher and has worked with AIS to accredit other teachers. Mia loves teaching and science, and especially enjoys helping students understand difficult concepts.

Lisa Sharpe

Lisa Sharpe is currently a Year Two teacher at the Scots College Preparatory School. Recipient of The Scots College Dr. Robert Isles' “Outstanding Classroom Practice” Award, Lisa has 8 years of teaching experience and is particularly interested in fostering a love of creativity in children. Lisa has worked in a number of Sydney’s Independent Schools as a teacher and has actively promoted the use of Thinking Frameworks through working cooperatively with colleagues across Sydney in the New South Wales Culture of Thinking Collaborative Network. Believing that ‘thinking’ is a skill that tomorrow’s learner must possess, Lisa understands that students should have opportunities to explore the world around them in meaningful ways and are enthusiastic about facilitating this process.
