If you want to learn to speak Thai, our Thai classes are ideal for adult learners to enjoy a practical and social experience while you learn Thai language and culture. Learn Thai the smart way with Thai courses at CCE, the University of Sydney.

Aims

Learn how to tell the time and make appointments, talk about your daily routine and discuss the weather. Grammatical themes centre around the past and future tense to develop your skills.

Content

  • Course orientation: a brief introduction of reading and written Thai characters, consonants, vowels, tone markers.
  • Review time, telling the time and making an appointment.
  • Talking about daily routine and activities.
  • Understanding the calendar, talking about present, future and past times.
  • Talking about families, typical traveller’s questions.
  • Travelling around in Thailand, topography and weather.
  • Revision and consolidation.

Delivery

Interactive workshops where active participation is encouraged.

Intended Audience

Expands on material covered in beginners and is suitable for those who have completed 101 or who have completed 20 hours of recent face to face tuition.
