Level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
This course will further your ability to read, speak, listen and also write the language by covering themes including hobbies and interests, getting around, reading basic signage and inviting people out. It follows the content in the prescribed chapters of the recommended text for reference and practice between sessions.
Outcomes
By the end of this course, you should be able to:
- talk about your hobbies
- talk about what you do on your day/s off
- invite your friend to go somewhere together
- recognise train station and taxi signs
- describe how to get to a particular destination
- decribe your location over the phone
- recognise the opening and closing times on a shop noticeboard.

- Recognise information on posters and calendars for events
- RSVP to an event
- Talk about whether or not you can go out with your friend
- Japanese seasonal events and national holidays
- Recognise train station and taxi signs
- Show a taxi driver a note and say your destination
- Say how to get to a particular destination - with and without a map
