Arabic Course 402 (Level 14)

Level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

This course is a continuation of Arabic 401. It includes advanced grammatical materials and activities that consolidate your speaking and writing skills while increasing vocabulary.


By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • recognise the verb subject agreement
  • recognise active and passive voice agreement
  • increase your vocabulary by an additional 1500 words
  • employ additional basic expressions spoken on specific occasions
  • identify the main points of clear standard speech on familiar matters such as narrating a story or relating to the plot of a book or film
  • write a text using cultural materials such as summarising a story or a novel or telling about a novelist or a poet.


This course covers the following topics:

  • culture
  • theatre
  • poetry
  • songs
  • society and the environment
  • nouns and adverbs
  • verb subject agreement
  • active and passive voice.

Intended audience

Suitable for B2 level students, those who have completed all levels of Arabic up to 401 or who have completed 320 hours of recent face-to-face tuition.

Delivery style

Delivered as a series of interactive workshops where active participation is encouraged.


Resources will be provided to cover all topics.

Please note

Selected Language courses that teach spoken language may include use of language immersion (course instruction in the selected language) as part of the training strategy.


Language courses are offered in four terms each year during January, April, July and October.
