This one-day course is ideal for anyone running a small to medium-sized business or those wanting to take control of their financial affairs.

During this course, you will learn how to use Xero accounting software and develop the skills required to navigate and utilise Xero’s features. You will be provided with the skills, knowledge and guidance to manage your accounts effectively and efficiently.

Outcomes

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • start, navigate and exit from Xero
  • modify a chart of accounts to suit specific business needs
  • enter supplier and customer details into the Xero contact file
  • setup items for a new company file
  • use the purchasing features of Xero
  • pay for purchases that have been made from suppliers
  • make sales to customers
  • deal with more complex invoicing matters
  • record customer payments
  • make creditor payments from a variety of fund sources
  • perform a bank reconciliation
  • produce a variety of business related reports
  • understand how Xero is used to track GST
  • use Xero’s reports to produce a Business Activity Statement.

  • entering bills
  • reconciling bill payments made
  • management Reports
  • repairing the BAS.

Intended audience

Designed for anyone wanting to learn how to manage the day-to-day operations of a small to medium-sized business using Xero. This course is ideal for business owners, accountants, bookkeepers, and people who are looking to transition to Xero from other accounting systems.

Prior knowledge of Xero software is not required.

Delivery style

Delivered as presenter-taught computer-based training in a computer lab. You will have access to a computer during the course, and a temporary Xero account will be created for each attendee.

Additional information

Please bring a USB flash drive to class if you would like to make a copy of your work or any relevant class materials. Alternatively, you can save these to a cloud storage space or email them to your personal email address.

This course will not lead you to become a Xero Certified Advisor and is not endorsed by Xero.
