If you want to learn to speak Hindi, our Hindi classes are ideal for adult learners to enjoy a practical and social experience while you learn Hindi language and culture. Learn Hindi the smart way with Hindi courses at CCE, the University of Sydney.

No prior knowledge is required. You will learn basic social greetings, manners and how to describe yourself. You will also be introduced to the Devanagari syllabary and vocal inflexions used in the language. Simple grammatical concepts, such as adjective, noun and verb use, will be introduced.

  • Courtesy and manner
  • Simple questions
  • The present tense of the verb ‘to be’ and the construction of simple sentences
  • Adjective – noun – verb agreement
  • Use of postpositions (prepositions in English)

Complete Hindi: Teach Yourself by Rupert Snell, Simon Weightman (ISBN 978-14-4410-683-1).

Based on Chapters 1-3 of the above text. The text is used for activities and forms the basis for consolidation and practice.
