Xiaojing Ji was selected by the Confucius Institute Headquarters of China to assist Chinese language teaching at the University of Sydney Confucius Institute. She is an experienced Chinese language instructor at Fudan University, China with extensive Chinese language teaching experience. She has taught at Nottingham University Confucius Institute in the U.K. and State University of New York at Albany in America. Ms Ji is experienced of teaching Chinese to non-Chinese speaking background students of all levels and ages, upholding a student-centered pedagogy while adopting a flexible teaching approach with respect to students' varied learning needs and styles. She is also adept at combining Chinese language teaching with Chinese culture to enhance the classroom experience. As an intercultural communicator, she takes delight in sharing her own understanding of Chinese language and culture with people from various backgrounds, as well as learning from their cultures.
Xiaojing holds a B.A in Chinese as a Foreign Language from Shanghai International Studies University and a Master in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics from Fudan University.
Allen Jiang

Allen is a product manager with EY, where he focuses on emerging industries such as space technology, AI, blockchain, and sustainability. Previously Allen was a product manager at Qantas where he helped launch a greenfield venture in insurance and wellbeing. Originally from the USA, Allen was a product manager and entrepreneur of digital healthcare start-ups in the Silicon Valley.
Allen received a B.A. in Psychology and began his early career in technology investment banking. Allen has taught courses in Sydney and San Francisco, which have helped students explore various career paths, land jobs, and see the world in new ways.
Michelle Jiang

Michelle completed her Master of Clinical Psychology and PhD degrees at The University of New South Wales. She has extensive experience working with adults presenting with a wide range of psychological issues. Her primary area of interest and expertise is in the assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders, such as panic disorder, agoraphobia, generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety disorder, specific phobias, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
Michelle is also working part-time as a psychologist at WSLHD Anxiety Treatment and Research Unit, an outpatient anxiety disorders specialist clinic at Cumberland Hospital, where she works extensively with adults presenting with severe anxiety disorders with complex comorbid issues. Michelle’s treatment approach is primarily informed by Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), due to the strong research evidence for its efficacy. She is also trained in other evidence-based therapy approaches and skills, such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Michelle has several research publications in peer-reviewed journals from her PhD. She has also been invited to provide presentations on anxiety disorders to other health professionals in the Western Sydney Local Health District. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA), and the Australian Association for Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy (AACBT).
Xing Jin

Xing Jin is an award-winning market development and cross-cultural communications expert of more than 20 years' experience. Xing’s career has ranged from overseeing programs around market development, consumer engagement and product design to major international relations projects. Xing’s diverse Australian client experience includes work with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Festival, Sydney Opera House, Australia Council for the Arts, Australian Chamber Orchestra, Theatre of Image, Qantas and Merivale Group.
Xing Jin joined the University of Sydney Confucius Institute when it was newly established in 2008. She has been the Head of the Institute since 2012. Over that time she has overseen the growth of its language courses, which serve thousands of people living in Sydney. The Institute’s public reach has also expanded with the introduction of an annual calendar of events featuring leading Australian and Chinese artists, academics and commentators.
As an educator, Xing has lectured on topics including relationship management with Chinese business, Chinese cultural awareness and business etiquette, arts marketing and community engagement. Xing holds a Master of Arts in Communication Management, a Bachelor of Arts in Chinese Language and Literature, and a Diploma of Education. Xing is also a dedicated arts reviewer, blogger and author.
Xing is currently a member of Executive Committee of the Australia-China Business Council NSW and the City of Sydney’s Chinese New Year Festival Advisory Committee.
Nilwan Jiraratwatana

Nilwan Jiraratwatana gained tertiary and teaching qualifications while a teacher and supervisor in the Ministry of Education, Thailand. She also has a Masters degree in Higher Education from UNSW. Nilwan has extensive teaching experience having taught for 10 years in Thailand and as a lecturer and course coordinator in Thai Studies at the University of Sydney from 1993 to 2005. In 2005 she received a Teaching Initiative Award for her services. Dr Sebastian Job received his PhD from the Department of Anthropology at the University of Sydney in 2007 for a thesis on the psychic life of racist nationalism in contemporary Russia. He has taught at Sydney University, UNSW, Macquarie University and UWS, in courses such as race and ethnicity, gender, modern European history, communication theory, and imagination, narcissism and identification. His research interests are broadly in the areas of political, philosophical and psychoanalytic anthropology. He has conducted original fieldwork in Russia and Mexico and is currently involved in a project focused on mapping and assessing the altered states of consciousness reported by neo-shamanistic practitioners.Wendy Jocum
