Level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

The final of the the second year program, this course aims to consolidate and develop participants knowledge previously gained, as well as introduce more complex language structures which will allow for expression of feelings and opinions.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  1. Provide directions using the imperative form.
  2. Review a book or short movie and write a report about it.
  3. Prepare a publicity text.
  4. Prepare a letter of complaint.

Content

This course covers the following topics:

  • Giving directions using the imperative form
  • Talking about books or the cinema
  • Giving advice using the imperative form
  • Talking about publicity
  • Expressing wishes and making complaints
  • Writing letters

Intended Audience

Suitable for B1 level students, those who have completed all levels of Brazilian Portuguese up to 203 or those who have completed 170 hours of recent face-to-face tuition.

Delivery

This course is delivered as a series of interactive workshops where active participation is encouraged.

Features
