Level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

The second level of the second year program, this course is suitable for those who have completed all levels of Brazilian Portuguese up to 201 or 120 hours of recent face-to-face tuition.

Outcomes

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • make hypothetical statements
  • talk about past events
  • compare tenses and modes (indicative and subjunctive) in diverse scenario
  • comment on current affairs.

Content

This course covers the following topics:

  • conditional + imperfect of subjunctive – to make hypothetical statements
  • past participles usage
  • prepositions
  • conjunctions
  • suffix – word formation
  • pretérito perfeito composto (subjunctive) usage
  • pretérito mais-queperfeito composto (subjunctive) usage
  • current affairs – to make commentaries
  • preparing for job Interviews.

Intended audience

Suitable for B1 level students, those who have completed all levels of Brazilian Portuguese up to 201 or those who have completed 120 hours of recent face-to-face tuition.

Delivery style

Delivered as a series of interactive workshops where active participation is encouraged.
