French Conversation Course: La phonetique, tout simplement

If you want to learn to speak French, our French classes are ideal for adult learners to enjoy a practical and social experience while you learn French language and culture. Learn French the smart way with French courses at CCE, the University of Sydney.

Aims

Evaluate and perfect your pronunciation. Through stimulating and interactive exercises, we will explore intonation patterns, sounds and rhythm, some differences with pronunciation and stress, in a convivial and relaxed atmosphere.

Outcomes

  1. Have a greater understanding of the differences with pronunciation.
  2. Have developed their knowledge of phonetics.
  3. Have improved their listening and speaking skills.
  4. Be able to express their ideas with greater clarity.

  • Vowels.
  • Semi-vowels.
  • Nasal vowels.
  • Consonnants.
  • Liaisons.

Intended Audience

Designed for advanced students and will be conducted entirely in French. Assumes students have a proficiency level. Participants must also be keen to engage in discussions on a variety of topics.

Delivery Style

You will be guided through a variety of complex written and oral documents. Through repetition exercises, you will develop your listening and speaking skills, and a good ear for the rhythm of speech.

Selected Language and Culture courses that teach spoken language may include use of language immersion (course instruction in the selected language) as part of the training strategy.
