If you want to learn to speak French, our French classes are ideal for adult learners to enjoy a practical and social experience while you learn French language and culture. Learn French the smart way with French courses at CCE, the University of Sydney.

The final level in the second year program. Suitable for those who have completed all levels up to 203 or who have completed 170 hours of recent face to face tuition.

A variety of class activities will teach you how to retell your travels, discuss real estate, plan for the future and refine object discriminations. Your language fluency will be greatly improved by learning indicators of time as well as direct and indirect object pronouns.


This course covers the following topics:

  • Shopping for everyday needs
  • Expressing precise quantities
  • Characterising food products
  • Understanding an announcement for a show
  • Offering/choosing an evening in town
  • Expressing a restriction
  • Ordering, expressing your satisfaction/dissatisfaction in a restaurant
  • Understanding a short presentation in order to choose a restaurant
  • The pronoun en
  • Negative
  • The imperfect


This course is delivered as a series of interactive workshops where active participation is encouraged.
