Level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

This course aims to consolidate and improve your knowledge through the development of speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, further to those gained in previous courses. More complex grammatical structures will be introduced in order to improve all essential language skills.


By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • use appropriate vocabulary to evaluate business ideas
  • congratulate colleagues and friends on employment anniversaries
  • express your surprise about food consumption in Germany
  • give advice on how to best learn a language
  • use the newly introduced and revised grammatical structures more confidently.


This course covers the following topics:

  • new business ideas (grammar: reflexive verbs; vocabulary: phrases to evaluate, congratulate and to say “thank you”)
  • healthy food options and food consumption in Germany (grammar: conjunction wenn; vocabulary: how to express surprise)
  • language study experience (grammar: conjunction als; vocabulary: best language study concepts)
  • communication options – sending parcels by post (grammar: passive voice/present tense)
  • media/TV (grammar: dative and accusative verbs and their objects).

Intended audience

Suitable for A2 level students, those who have completed all levels of German up to 203 or those who have completed 170 hours of recent face-to-face tuition.

Delivery style

Delivered as a series of interactive sessions where active participation is encouraged. Each session is conducted in a friendly and relaxed classroom setting.
