If you want to learn to speak Arabic, our Arabic classes are ideal for adult learners to enjoy a practical and social experience while you learn Arabic language and culture. Learn Arabic the smart way with Arabic courses at CCE, the University of Sydney.

Suitable for those who have completed all levels up to 201 or who have completed 120 hours of recent face to face tuition.


This course covers the following topics:

  • Family and friends
  • The weekend
  • Finding information
  • Forming questions
  • The third form of the present tense
  • Infinitive verbs
  • Prepositions and pronouns


This course is delivered as a series of interactive workshops where active participation is encouraged.

Al-Kitaab Fii Ta Callum Al-cArabiyya: A Textbook for Beginning Arabic: Part One by Abbas Al-Tonsi, Kristen Brustad, Mahmoud Al-Batal (Georgetown Uni Press 3rd Edition) ISBN 9781589017368

Based on Themes and Grammar of chapters 8 – 9 of Al-Kitaab Fii Ta Callum Al-cArabiyya. The text is used for activities and forms the basis for consolidation and practice between meetings. Additional supplementary resources will also be provided to cover general topics.
