Ian Young

Resume

Ian Young is Associate Professor of Hebrew, Biblical and Jewish Studies at the University of Sydney. He is the author of Diversity in Pre-Exilic Hebrew (1993), editor of Biblical Hebrew: Studies in Chronology and Typology (2003) and co-author of Linguistic Dating of Biblical Texts (2 volumes, 2008), as well as numerous scholarly articles on the Hebrew language and the text of the Hebrew Bible among the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Rob Young

Rob has more than 27 years' experience in managing and evaluating capital projects in resources, defence, and public and private infrastructure sectors. He has developed a strong understanding of the drivers of project success and failure, and in particular, the impact of project leadership and governance on project performance. In the role of Regional Director – Asia Pacific for Independent Project Analysis, Rob evaluated more than 400 projects, including more than 45 megaprojects.

Ray Younis

Associate Professor Raymond Younis was educated at the University of Sydney and the University of Oxford. His book, On the Ethical Life (with original contributions from key thinkers like Peter Singer) was published by Cambridge Scholars in January 2010. He has contributed essays to 9 books and over 20 academic journals including The Australasian Journal of Philosophy, Metascience, European Journal of Philosophy of Religion, Literature/Film Quarterly, Cultural Studies and Asian Studies Review . He has given conference talks at Oxford, Cambridge and Sydney University, among others, and has been invited to speak at an international conference at Harvard University later this year. He is the recipient of a ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ from the University of Sydney “in recognition of eight years teaching excellence”. He taught philosophy and literature at Oxford and teaches and co-ordinates courses on philosophy, literature and cultural studies for the Centre. He was a film critic for nine years and is an experienced wine consultant. He has coordinated and/or taught more than 200 highly successful courses for the Centre. He is working on a new book on science and religion.

Clare Yu

Clare is a data analyst and corporate trainer with over 10 years of experience in teaching and training in statistics and various data analysis tools. She holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Science from the University of Sydney, where she specialised in hydrological and digital soil modelling using GIS and machine learning.

Clare has a rich background in environmental science and geospatial analysis, with expertise in tools like ArcGIS, QGIS, Python, R, and Power BI. Her professional experience spans roles at the University of Sydney, Macquarie University, and various research institutes, where she managed large datasets, conducted advanced statistical analyses, and developed geospatial models.

In addition to her academic and professional achievements, Clare is passionate about sharing her knowledge and empowering others through education. Her dedication to continuous learning is reflected in her commitment to creating engaging and accessible learning experiences for her students. Beyond her professional interests, Clare is an enthusiastic Latin dancer, finding joy and creativity in the rhythm and movement of dance.

Hasnain Zaheer

Hasnain Zaheer is an alumnus of Macquarie Graduate School of Management, where he completed a Masters in Management. Hasnain is Google AdWords Qualified in Search & Display Advertising, Analysis & Reporting and is a Hootsuite certified Social Media Professional. He also holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessments.

Hasnain is an experienced digital strategy, digital innovation and product management practitioner, teacher and researcher with a record of successfully building and shipping digital products in start-ups as well as in enterprise innovation teams. His research project on ‘How innovative digital start-ups achieve traction: Perspectives of successful Australian founders’ is one of the pioneering studies in the digital innovation field.

Fazluz Zaman

Fazluz is an experienced teacher in higher education and vocational training with over two decades of expertise. He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration and three postgraduate degrees in international business, HRM, and adult education. His focus areas include business, marketing, human resources, training, project management, and workplace health and safety.

Fazluz has worked as a TAFE trainer, postgraduate marker at Central Queensland University, and contact lecturer at Kaplan Business School. He aligns his teaching with program goals and industry demands, applying a pragmatic approach. His experience also includes a role as an instructor at a NSW correctional facility, where he contributed to reducing recidivism.

Feng Zhang

Feng Shu (John) Zhang graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English in People’s Republic of China in 1976. He has since completed an Australian NAATI Translator Level 2, a Graduate Diploma (T-LOTE) and a Masters of Arts in Applied Linguistics at the University of Technology, Sydney. John has extensive language teaching experience having taught for over 10 years at the University of Luoyang, China; 10 years at the University of Technology, Sydney and 9 years at Taylor’s College, Sydney, and since the beginning of 2012 at The Scots College.
