Level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

Join our beginners Spanish conversation course and revise content covered in A2 Spanish courses in a fun and engaging way.

Activities focus on Spanish verbal skills and communication, conversations on cultural events and current affairs, and conducting everyday activities. You will revise Spanish grammar, vocabulary and sentence structures, and also practice your pronunciation.

Learning is supported with videos, audio recordings, and a variety of texts in Spanish.

This elementary overview course revises the topics presented in the textbook used for A2 courses (Aula Internacional 2 (A2) 2013 New edition by Jaime Corpas, Eva GarcÍa and AgustÍn Garmendia, Difusion, Spain).


This course aims to consolidate your elementary knowledge of the Spanish language and to facilitate your transition to intermediate level language study.


By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • recognise basic sentences and frequently used expressions when conversing on the following topics:
    • personal information
    • family information
    • shopping
    • local geography
    • employment.
  • communicate effectively when conducting routine, everyday activities
  • confidently use basic past, present and future tense in conversational exchanges
  • describe your background, immediate environment and basic needs in Spanish.


This course covers the following topics:

  • introductions, daily activities and hobbies
  • describing your house and a place of interest
  • describing objects and people
  • planning future activities and talking about future plans
  • using present tense in conversational language
  • conversing on your health and mood
  • describing past events and using comparisons
  • using past tense in conversational language.

Intended audience

Suitable for A2 level students who have reached a basic level of Spanish and want to revise and consolidate their elementary comprehension of the Spanish language and communication skills.


You should have completed all elementary Spanish courses (A2) or completed 180 hours of prior learning.

Delivery style



Supporting and supplementary learning materials are provided in class. Please bring a notebook and pen.

Selected courses that teach spoken language may include use of language immersion (course instruction in the selected language) as part of the training strategy.
