Spanish Course 602 (Level 22)

Level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

This course aims to consolidate and develop knowledge previously gained, as well as introduce more complex Spanish language structures which will allow for expression of feelings and opinions.

Suitable for those who have completed all levels of Spanish up to 601 or those who have completed 520 hours of recent face-to-face tuition.


By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • deliver an informative speech
  • analyse news in Spanish and Latin-American newspapers
  • criticise a text using humour.


This course covers the following topics:

  • discussion of verbs and linguistic resources to express emotions
  • organising a newspaper article
  • revision of the use of the infinitive
  • use of phrases related to sport, used to express opinion.

Intended audience

Suitable for C1 level students, those who have completed all levels of Spanish up to 601 or those who have completed 520 hours of recent face-to-face tuition.

Delivery style

Delivered as a series of classroom-based workshops which include group activities and group discussion. Parts of the course will be conducted in Spanish as part of the overall training strategy.

Prescribed text

C de C1, Curso de Español de Nivel Superior by Rosana Acquaroni, José Amenós, Virginia Gonzáles, Pedro Gras, Josefina Simkievich, Carmen Soriano e Iñaqui Tarrés (Editorial Difusión, España, 2017).

Based on Units 5-6 of the above text. The text is used for class activities and forms the basis for consolidation and practice between meetings.
