Level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

This course aims to consolidate and develop your knowledge previously gained, as well as introduce more complex Spanish language structures which will allow for expression of feelings and opinions.

Suitable for those who have completed all levels of Spanish up to 401 or those who have completed 320 hours of recent face-to-face tuition.


By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • compare opinions about topics including the theatre, sports, movies and music
  • express your mood in different situations
  • conduct a mediation of conflict.


This course covers the following topics:

  • discussing leisure activities: theatre, sport, dance etc.
  • discussing conflict resolution
  • expressing finality and intentions
  • the indirect speech
  • using se to express involuntary actions
  • expressing sentiments and mood
  • discussing the use of the gerunds and adverbs
  • using the present imperfect of the subjunctive.

Intended audience

Suitable for continuing B2 level students, those who have completed all levels of Spanish up to 401 or those who have completed 320 hours of recent face-to-face tuition.

Delivery style

Delivered as a series of classroom-based workshops which include group activities and group discussion. Parts of the course will be conducted in Spanish as part of the overall training strategy.

Based on Units 1-2 of the above text. The text is used for activities and forms the basis for consolidation and practice.
