Talitha Hennessy

Talitha Hennessy is an experienced criminal lawyer having appeared for both the defence and prosecution. Before her admission to the NSW Bar in 2017, she was an Associate to Justice Cohen at the Family Court in Sydney. Talitha has also worked as a solicitor for the Aboriginal Legal Service in Dubbo, appearing in over 100 hearings in the Children’s Court and Local Court throughout Central Western NSW, as well as in numerous severity and conviction appeals and sentence matters in the District Court. Talitha also worked as solicitor at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (NSW), where she regularly appeared on behalf of the Crown in summary hearings in the Local Court and also appeared for the Crown as an advocate in a number of District Court trials. In addition, Talitha has prepared and instructed in murder trials and other complex matters. She has also appeared in Family Law applications in the Federal Circuit Court, and in Care and Protection matters in the Children’s Court.

Jo Henwood

Jo Henwood has been telling stories since the end of 1999 when she joined the Australian Storytelling Guild (NSW), becoming an Accredited Storyteller in 2002, and President in 2003.

Qualified in librarianship, tour guiding and managing, museum studies, gifted education and cultural heritage, Jo has presented papers and workshops at conferences on museum theatre, museum education, tour guiding and of course, storytelling as well as conducting frequent storytelling workshops at community colleges.

Jo works as a tour guide and education officer at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, Historic Houses Trust of NSW, National Parks and Wildlife Service, Taronga Park Zoo as well as at libraries in reference and children’s services and as a professional Storyteller, working in heritage sites, festivals, libraries and schools.

Kathryn Heyman

Resume

Dr Kathryn Heyman is the author of four novels, published internationally and in translation, which have won and been nominated for several awards including the Arts Council of England Writers Award, the Kibble Prize, the Orange Prize and the Scottish Writer of the Year Award. A former Royal Literary Fund Fellow, Kathryn writes regular radio plays and short fiction for the BBC and is currently dramaturg for The Flying Fruit Fly Circus on their adaptation of The Tempest. Also an essayist and travel-writer for a range of publications, Kathryn has taught Creative Writing in universities including Sydney, Oxford and Glasgow, and for a range of community organisations. A former Assertiveness Coach, Kathryn developed Life Skills and Communication courses for LifeTrain Sheffield and is a consultant mentor for the Gold Dust Mentoring Scheme in the UK.

Meg Hibbins

Meg Hibbins has a career in conferences, events, and festivals spanning over 20 years. She has worked with a diverse range of organisations. Her career began with producing educational and networking events for a professional association before spending six years with a pharmaceutical giant, managing in-house conference and event facilities, corporate hospitality programs, and various corporate events. She has also held in-house event roles at professional service firms and UTS.

Meg holds a Master’s in Event Management and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. She also lectures in Event Management and Tourism at UTS.

Thomas Hikade

Dr Thomas Hikade has recently returned to Sydney from Canada where he held a tenured position as Assistant Professor of Egyptology at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver from 2004-2012. He also graduated from UBC with a Diploma in Adult Education in May 2012. Thomas has extensive experience in research and teaching, developing courses, counselling and advising students at universities in Australia (USyd), Canada (UBC), and the United States (Brown).

For over 20 years Thomas has worked on excavations in Germany, Egypt and Jordan with a particular focus on early Egypt and state formation. He has published two monographs and around 50 articles for both academic journals and a more general audience. Thomas has given numerous public lectures in Canada, the USA, and Australia. At UBC he was involved in successful programs in continuing education with lecture series and workshops on topics such as “Women in ancient Egypt” and “Turning points in the history of ancient Egypt”.

Simon Hillier has more than 27 years' experience as a digital content and AI writing, marketing and business specialist, including eight years with e-commerce trailblazers, travel.com.au and lastminute.com, where his newsletters were read by more than half a million subscribers.

Over the past 19 years, Simon has run his own content writing, training and consulting business. He has produced content and consulted for hundreds of organisations, from small start-ups to global brand names such as Microsoft, Salesforce, Canva, NBC Universal, PayPal, Cochlear, Johnson & Johnson, Telstra, ING, Westpac, ANZ and Jaguar, as well as Australian and international government agencies and NPOs.

His articles have been featured in publications throughout the world and he has written, polished and edited books for publishers, companies and inspiring individuals.

Simon loves training and sees it as a chance to help people from all walks of life achieve and share the things that are important to them.
