Laura Kotevska

Laura is a historian of philosophy. She has taught philosophy at the University of Sydney, University of New South Wales and the University of Notre Dame. Laura studied at the University of Sydney and Princeton University, where she undertook PhD research that examined the moral value of early modern mathematics. She has given talks at Princeton and Oxford Universities and worked long hours at the Bibliothèque nationale de France, unearthing neglected manuscripts in the history of ideas.Robert Kowalski

Dr Robert Kowalski is a Scholar of Classics with extensive teaching experience.
He has been teaching Latin, Classical Greek and Philosophy since 1984 at various educational providers including St Patrick’s College, Barker College, North Sydney Boys High School, The Scots College, and CCE at the University of Sydney. He was also the Head of Classics at the St Thomas Aquinas College.
Robert studied at the University of A. Mickiewicz in Posen, Adelaide University and at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome. He completed both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Latin and Greek, as well as a Doctorate in Philosophy, Classical Studies and Culture. Additionally, he has worked for the Australian Government as a translator and a simultaneous interpreter covering four modern languages.
Robert has a lifelong passion for classical languages and their application to the contemporary world. He is of the opinion that we should promote the study of classical languages on an equal basis with other subjects in pursuit of the liberal arts which make a valuable contribution to the humanisation of mankind.
Robert has also written a number of articles on classical culture, classical texts and grammar analysis, as well as his most recent book on Latin Syntax.
Andrew Kozyra

Andrew is an experienced HSC marker, Teacher, and Lecturer. He has also been a member of High School executives, has served on College Board of Management sub-committees, has practiced as the Head of Operations and the Head of Careers Education, and worked in business management outside of the education sector. He has been teaching Economics and Business Studies for more than 15 years. The organisations that Andrew has worked for include Moriah College, Ascham School, Sydney Grammar, Queenwood School, and Australian Business Academy.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics and Management), a Masters of Education, a Diploma of Financial Planning, and Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training. The majority of the students that Andrew has taught have achieved a top band in both Economics and Business Studies, with many of these students achieving in excess of 95 out of 100. Andrew is passionate about economics and business studies and enjoys showing students how these subjects can be applied in their lives.

Peter Krebs was born in Germany in 1954 and migrated to Australia in 1982. He has have been working in IT for more than 25 years. In 1996 entered the University of Sydney as mature age entrant after completing CCE’s University Preparation Course and was awarded a Bachelor of Science from in 2001 with majors in Computer Science and History & Philosophy of Science. In 2003, he was awarded an MA (Research) from UNSW for work in the Philosophy of Artificial Intelligence. He continued research in cognitive science (artificial neural nets and cognitive models) and was awarded a PhD in 2007. Peter continues to work in the IT industry.Michaela Krenn

Holding two Masters Degrees, Michaela is an academically qualified language teacher. Michaela conducts German lessons at various institutes as well as schools in Sydney to both adults and children of different age levels (ranging from beginners to advanced), also offering conversation practice besides classes for school, university, travelling, business etc. Furthermore, she has gained experience in translating and editing. Michaela motivates students to consistently achieve their aims. Axel Kruse completed a Bachelor of Arts with Honours and a Diploma of Education at the University of Western Australia. He began teaching at Hale School, one of the oldest private schools in Western Australia, where he was appointed as Master in Charge of English, teaching senior secondary English. He returned to academic studies in Western Australia with a post graduate scholarship then transferred to the University of Tasmania to study Shelley and literary criticism under the poet James McAuley, and taught English at Hobart Matriculation College. Upon completion of his Master of Arts degree he was appointed as a temporary Lecturer in English at the University of Tasmania, then to a permanent position at the University of Queensland, and after a year, to the English Department at the University of Sydney. His career at the University of Sydney has included a wide interest in English literature and language, including the English and Italian Renaissance, Romanticism, Modernism and Postmodernism. His studies include an attachment to the University of Florence, an edition of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, and publications on Australian literature, film and HSC English.
Beginning with his work as a teacher of senior English, he has a special interest in English in schools and extensive experience in HSC English studies. He has extensive experience as a Marker and Judge for HSC English Extension 1 and inaugurated a postgraduate Diploma in HSC English Studies at the University of Sydney. He now works widely as an English consultant to schools. He works with the Association for Independent School (AIS), advising teachers on the teaching of Higher School Certificate English, and he provides lectures at private schools across New South Wales. His classes for Higher School Certificate students at the Centre for Continuing Education at the University of Sydney provide the advantage of this wide experience for a wide range of students.
He also has a special interest in languages, professional communication and practical English language courses for multicultural Australia. Some of his most popular courses include Enhancing Your English Standard and Advanced and a new course in Conversation and Grammar. The focus in these courses is on practical business and administration English, practical grammar, essay writing and effective spoken as well as written English.
