Cathy Jackson

Cathy is a dedicated professional with over 30 years of experience in delivering training in Microsoft applications. Her extensive background includes working with clients from various sectors, including public, private, and not-for-profit. She has worked with individuals ranging from beginners to advanced users and has developed a large variety of course materials during that time.

One of Cathy's notable achievements is her 20-year tenure in TAFE, NSW, where she worked and managed an Information Technology Section, as well as having extensive experience in project management. During her time at TAFE, she also facilitated Workplace Training and Assessment course units, helping numerous clients gain positions in their chosen field in the IT industry. This experience showcases her commitment to helping learners achieve their career goals.

Cathy's journey as a trainer and her continuous commitment to lifelong learning have provided her with valuable insights into delivering effective training to adult audiences. Her vision is clear: she aims to assist all learners in achieving their educational goals by leveraging her technical knowledge, skills, and dedication within a high-quality learning environment.

Toshiko Jackson

Toshiko Jackson has been teaching Japanese since 1983 and has taught at a number of primary, secondary and tertiary institutions throughout Sydney and Melbourne. These include the University of Sydney (Dept of Japanese Studies), Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Holmesglen Institute of TAFE (Dept of LOTE as the Dept Coordinator & Course Coordinator of the Japanese Certficate IV for 7 years), the National Languages & Literacy Institute of Australia, Sydney Language Solutions, JALPAK, Sony, and Sumitomo Chemical. Toshiko is also the current editor and presenter of a Japanese language video program designed for travellers to Japan, available via the Learning Fever website.

Toshiko has worked as an interpretor and translator for the corporate sector, undertaken market research on international tourism at Sydney Airport, and delivered workshops for HSC students. She has also previously appeared on SBS television “World News” to speak about Japanese calligraphy at Sydney Language Solutions.

Toshiko’s quallifications include a B.A. in Arts from Seisen University in Tokyo, Diploma in Education from La Trobe University Melbourne, a Graduate Diploma in Japanese Applied Linguistics and Graduate Diploma in Linguistics from Monash University and M.A. in Asian Studies from Monash Asia Institute.

Toshiko has also taught the art of Japanese flower arrangement (Ikenobo school) in Japan. Her hobbies include the cinema (she loves powerful, intelligent and universally meaningful movies), academic study, the gym (especially body combat) and singing.

Paul Jacobson

Rabbi Paul Jacobson is a passionate and energetic teacher who enjoys working with people of all ages. Serving as a rabbi of Emanuel Synagogue since July 2006, Rabbi Jacobson has participated in all aspects of congregational life, offering a number of Torah chanting classes, helping enable more teenagers and adults to participate in synagogue services. Additionally, he teaches regularly at the Emanuel School, supervises the “Pizza with the Rabbi” programme for post-b’nei mitzvah students and has coordinated numerous young adult activities for the Emanuel community. In February 2009, he was selected as a participant for the International Nahum Goldmann Fellowship, a programme for young leaders between the ages of 25-40 to address the future of Jewish communal life throughout the world. Rabbi Jacobson believes in the importance of interfaith dialogue, and has been accredited as a chaplain through the New South Wales Disaster Recovery Network.

Hae Seong Jang

Dr Hae Seong Jang is an award-winning lecturer in Korean Studies with over 15 years' teaching experience. As an educator, Hae Seong has lectured in both South Korea and Australia, on topics including Korean Language, Korean Contemporary Gender and Culture, and Korean Literature. Hae Seong holds a Master of Arts in Sociology and a Doctor of Arts in Gender and Cultural Studies from the University of Sydney. She is also a dedicated visual ethnographer, amateur photographer and author, with her latest publication Social Identities of Indigenous Young People in Contemporary Australia: Neo-colonial north, Yarrabah published in 2015.

Monica Jarman

Monica Jarman has been teaching senior high school English for 15 years. Her English Standard, Advanced, Extension 1 and Extension 2 students are regularly in the highest bands of achievement in the HSC. She has been involved in all areas of the HSC assessment process. She has Masters degrees from Sydney and Deakin Universities, has recently published on Jane Austen post texts in the Jane Austen Society of Australia Journal, ‘Sensibilities’ and presented at the 2013 biennial Romanticism Studies of Australasia Association conference.

Katie Jeanes

Katie is a senior digital marketer who specialises in paid media and marketing analytics. She leads the digital arm of Pinstripe Media, an Australian media company with a dedicated focus on small business, startups and personal finance that engages more than 2 million monthly users across its brands and media platforms.

Previously, Katie managed global PPC and nurture marketing campaigns at STAT Search Analytics, increasing conversion rates by 67%. As a member of the founding team at RED Academy, Katie managed a team of 10 and launched technology schools in Vancouver and Toronto. She also developed the digital marketing program which maintains a graduate hiring rate of 100% within 3 months. Prior to teaching at RED Academy and BCIT, Katie founded two startups in digital media and fashion technology. She also worked with the Mindset Social Innovation Foundation to add ‘access to affordable medicine’ to the UN’s 2015 Sustainable Development Goals.

Katie has been recognised by American Express and Ashoka as one of the top 45 emerging innovators in North America. She holds Google certifications in AdWords and Analytics, a Diploma in User Experience Design, and is completing her Masters in Learning and Technology.
