Level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

This course will further develop your ability to read, speak, listen and write the language by covering themes including saying what you do on special days of the year in your country, saying what you think about online shopping, talking with others about your sightseeing tour, and reading a comment in the visitor comment book at a sightseeing spot. It follows the content in the prescribed text for reference and practice between sessions.

Suitable for those who have completed all levels of Japanese up to 303 or 270 hours of recent tuition.

Outcomes

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • talk about an eco-friendly activity you have engaged in
  • talk about what you do to make the best use of items/things before disposing of them
  • share a childhood memory, or a memory from your time at school
  • deliver a simple presentation about a famous person from your country of origin
  • write a short passage about your life.

Content

This course covers the following topics:

  • Eco-friendly and non-eco-friendly practices
  • Recycling – something you made by recycling something else
  • Famous people – say how you came to like a famous person
  • Motivations – talk about what motivated you to start something new in your life and how things have changed since then

Intended audience

Suitable for A2 level participants, those who have completed all levels of Japanese up to 303, or those who have completed 270 hours of recent tuition.

Delivery

This course is delivered as a series of interactive workshops where active participation is encouraged.
