HSC Mathematics - General 2 Exam Preparation Course (September)

Prepare for HSC Mathematics the smart way with HSC Mathematics preparation courses at CCE, the University of Sydney.

This HSC Exam Preparation course offers a wonderful opportunity to hone examination skills in order to maximise chances of success.

The first half of the workshop will deal with identifying common types of Mathematics General 2 HSC Exam questions, reviewing past papers, and practising interpreting questions and planning responses. The presenter will also offer advice on examination technique and how to maximise exam results.

The second half will allow time for exam practice, with valuable feedback and tips provided. Students will have the opportunity to ask topic specific questions and to receive individual assistance and advice.


Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:

  • Answer a range of questions based on the topics covered.
  • Critically evaluate their own and others' solutions to improve the quality of responses in assessment tasks.
  • Interpret mathematical language of examination questions to better understand the steps for a quality solutions.
  • Identify the relationships between key areas of mathematics.
  • Manage time effectively during examinations.

Delivery Style

This Mathematics General 2 course is delivered as activity-based workshops where students explore and apply mathematical knowledge and skills in a combination of lectures, tutorials and problem-solving sessions. Practice exercises are carefully graded and students receive immediate feedback.

This course will be evaluated via an online student questionnaire delivered in class.
