Dr Carolyn McKay is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Sydney Law School where she teaches Criminal Law, Civil & Criminal Procedure and Digital Criminology. She is CoDirector of the Sydney Institute of Criminology.

Carolyn is recognised for her research into technologies in justice, specifically her empirical research into prisoners’ experiences of accessing justice from a custodial situation by audio visual links, published in her monograph,The Pixelated Prisoner: Prison video links, court ‘appearance’ and the justice matrix (2018) Routledge. During the period July 2021 - June 2024, Carolyn will undertake her ARC Discovery Early Career Research Award (DECRA) 'The Digital Criminal Justice Project: Vulnerability and the Digital Subject'.

Carolyn serves on the NSW Bar Association Innovation & Technology Committee and served on the 2019 NSW Law Society Legal Technologies Committee. She has been a Visiting Scholar at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, University of Oxford 2019 and for 3 months at the Oñati International Institute for the Sociology of Law, Spain 2013-14. Carolyn has previously consulted on anti-dumping trade disputes and indirect taxation, working in both Sydney and Tokyo, and she also has a digital media/visual arts practice.

Nathan is a skilled professional in the financial modelling field, having honed his skills during his tenure in the financial modelling teams at KPMG and PwC. His work involves crafting financial models for a diverse set of clients, including sizable ASX-listed companies engaged in multi-billion dollar projects.

Alongside his practical roles, Nathan shares his insights as part of the faculty at the Australian Graduate School of Management, contributing to the full-time, online, and executive MBA programs. This dual experience reflects Nathan’s solid grounding in financial modelling and his commitment to passing on his knowledge through education.

Ian completed 40 years of teaching classical subjects in 1998, for the last 25 years at The King’s School. Since then he has continued his interests in Latin and Greek by directing the Sydney Latin Summer School for 10 years and teaching Classical Greek at the Centre for Continuing Education. Ian’s amateur work as an apiarist over many years led him to do an MA in Latin at Sydney University, researching Roman beekeeping practices. Ian’s qualifications are: BA, MEd, MA, Dip Ed, A Cert CM.

Sarah McMahon, Psychologist, is passionate about educating the community about eating disorders and supporting those who are affected by them. She has spent over five years doing just that. Activities she has undertaken including facilitating a co-facilitating support groups, coordinating public forums, conducting training and speaking to the media. She runs a successful private practice in Sydney’s lower north shore and has a particular interest in treating people affected by eating disorders, including family members. Sarah is a currently completing further study in public health and has recovered from an eating disorder herself.

Renae is a clinical research fellow of The University of Sydney and Woolcock Institute of Medical Research in Sydney, and is also a clinical specialist physiotherapist in pulmonary rehabilitation at the Prince of Wales Hospital. She completed her PhD on the topic of water-based exercise for people with COPD.

Her research interests include interventions to improve health outcomes for people living with chronic respiratory disease, particularly alternative modes of training and alternative methods of delivering pulmonary rehabilitation, as well as evaluation of the health system effects and economic benefits of pulmonary rehabilitation.

Renae continues to work as a clinician and is recognised as an innovative clinical researcher in the field of pulmonary rehabilitation. She is an experienced mentor and educator in pulmonary rehabilitation nationally and internationally.

Graeme McRae. Tutor of CCE

Kat McRae attained her BA (Hons) in Near Eastern Archaeology at the University of Sydney in 2005. She is currently working on her PhD, investigating the affects of state formation and collapse on changes in ceramic styles, production and distribution in the Achaemenid Empire. She has been involved as a field archaeologist and illustrator on numerous archaeological projects in the Middle East (particularly Jordan, Syria and Iran) and Australia. Kat is a casual tutor and lecturer of Archaeology at the University of Sydney.
