Katia has a B.A. degree in English Literature from Syria. She has worked as a teacher in the community schools. For the last 4-5 years she has been delivering training to newly recruited staff at Sydney West Area Health while holding a position of a health care interpreter. Currently finishing her Masters degree in TESOL at the University of Western Sydney.

Axel Kruse

Axel Kruse completed a Bachelor of Arts with Honours and a Diploma of Education at the University of Western Australia. He began teaching at Hale School, one of the oldest private schools in Western Australia, where he was appointed as Master in Charge of English, teaching senior secondary English. He returned to academic studies in Western Australia with a post graduate scholarship then transferred to the University of Tasmania to study Shelley and literary criticism under the poet James McAuley, and taught English at Hobart Matriculation College. Upon completion of his Master of Arts degree he was appointed as a temporary Lecturer in English at the University of Tasmania, then to a permanent position at the University of Queensland, and after a year, to the English Department at the University of Sydney. His career at the University of Sydney has included a wide interest in English literature and language, including the English and Italian Renaissance, Romanticism, Modernism and Postmodernism. His studies include an attachment to the University of Florence, an edition of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, and publications on Australian literature, film and HSC English.

Beginning with his work as a teacher of senior English, he has a special interest in English in schools and extensive experience in HSC English studies. He has extensive experience as a Marker and Judge for HSC English Extension 1 and inaugurated a postgraduate Diploma in HSC English Studies at the University of Sydney. He now works widely as an English consultant to schools. He works with the Association for Independent School (AIS), advising teachers on the teaching of Higher School Certificate English, and he provides lectures at private schools across New South Wales. His classes for Higher School Certificate students at the Centre for Continuing Education at the University of Sydney provide the advantage of this wide experience for a wide range of students.

He also has a special interest in languages, professional communication and practical English language courses for multicultural Australia. Some of his most popular courses include Enhancing Your English Standard and Advanced and a new course in Conversation and Grammar. The focus in these courses is on practical business and administration English, practical grammar, essay writing and effective spoken as well as written English.

Bhawna Kunwar

Dr.Bhawna Kunwar is Ph.D. in Hindi literature with Masters of Arts in Hindi and Sanskrit language. She holds a wide teaching experience in India, Uganda (East Africa) and Australia, whereby her most dedicated tutoring started from the roots of a Post-graduate college in India working as an accredited lecturer, followed by her private Hindi coaching classes in Uganda (Kampala). Later privately tutoring in Perth, she is now engaged in private coaching classes in Sydney along with CCE at Sydney University.

Her students acknowledge her as a very patient, thorough and engaging teacher. She uses great adult learning methodologies and a very student oriented teaching style.

She is a well-known Hindi poet in a vast variety of literature techniques including free-verse, haikus and rhythmic poetry. Two of her widely demanded books have been published with other still in process. Also perusing a firm hold on story writing skills with deep literary knowledge of Hindi, she shares her accredited work across the world.

Paul Lakatos

Judge Paul Lakatos SC commenced his professional career working as a solicitor for the Aboriginal Legal Service in 1977. He continued his work in the Sydney metropolitan area representing indigent clients with the Public Solicitor’s Office from 1978. In 1982 Judge Lakatos SC led a team of investigators including the AFP, ATO investigators and forensic accountants, investigating bottom of the harbour tax schemes at the Special Prosecutors Office. In 1984 he was admitted as a Barrister, practising in Criminal Law; Administrative Law; Appellate Law; Coronial inquiries and before ICAC and the Police Integrity Commission – and as counsel assisting ICAC and the State Coroner. In 2005, Judge Lakatos was appointed as senior counsel and, in 2008, was appointed as a Judge of the District Court of NSW. Judge Paul Lakatos SC commenced as the President of the Mental Health Review Tribunal in 2019, where he oversees its functions. He also sits on Tribunal hearings in both forensic and civil jurisdictions. Most recently, he was appointed an ICAC Commissioner. This appointment will take effect in mid-September 2022.

Lisa Lampe

Dr Lisa Lampe is a psychiatrist who has specialised in researching and treating anxiety since 1992. She is a Senior Lecturer in the Sydney Medical School of the University of Sydney, and also has a Senior Staff Specialist (Academic) appointment with the Northern Sydney Local Health District and the CADE Clinic. Lisa is the author of book chapters, research papers, educational papers in professional journals, and numerous workshops, and has appeared on radio and television. The textbook on anxiety disorders written with colleagues from the Clinical Research Unit for Anxiety and Depression (CRUfAD) at St Vincent’s Hospital is widely used and has been translated into 5 other languages; and the DVDs I Think They Think and Fight or Flight? (with Prof Ron Rapee) have also found a wide audience. She has also written books on anxiety and depression for a general audience. Lisa’s patients have taught her a great deal about anxiety over the years, and the journey to control it. The strategies she will share in psychoeducation courses have been developed through the application and testing of research findings in real life with real people.

Clotilde Landais

Clotilde Landais received her PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Paris III-Sorbonne Nouvelle in 2008, where she specialised in the literary representation of the writer in North American Horror Fiction. Landais has published several articles on this topic in academic journals and she is currently preparing a monograph on metafiction in Stephen King’s works. She also taught literature at Pepperdine University – Switzerland (2009-2010).
