This Tableau course is suitable for those wanting to further develop their Tableau skills and build out their introductory Tableau skillset.*Turn your data into actionable insights with Tableau’s data management, visualisation, interactive dashboard and online sharing capabilities.

*This course is a continuation of the Introduction to Tableau Course: Level 1A. We encourage you to complete the Level 1A course, or check you can complete the learning outcomes in the Level 1A course before enrolling.


This course aims to provide you with the skills to perform more advanced data visualisations and analytics, using features such as table calculations, level of detail expressions, parameters and Python integration.


By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • create advanced visualisations such as horizon, parallel coordinates and Pareto charts
  • perform advanced table calculations
  • use level of detail expressions
  • use parameters to make visualisations more interactive
  • perform basic analytics, such as trend lines, forecasts and clustering
  • use these skills to create advanced visualisations not explicitly covered in the course.

It is assumed you have completed the Tableau: Level 1a course or equivalent.


You will be provided with online training materials including a mixture of step-by-step instructions and exercises. These materials will serve as a useful reference when working with Tableau in the future.

Please bring a USB flash drive to class if you would like to make a copy of your work or any relevant class materials. Alternatively, you can save these to a cloud storage space or email them to your personal email address.
