Level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

Aims

This course aims to consolidate and develop knowledge and speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, further to those gained in previous courses. More complex grammatical structures will be introduced in order to improve all essential language skills.

Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • talk about typical situations when shopping
  • describe a product
  • understand arguments in a discussion
  • make a complaint (both by phone and letter)
  • understand a factual text about advertisement and radio advertising
  • draft an advertising campaign
  • understand a video about "consumer society"
  • talk about different types of travellers
  • understand an interview about a world trip
  • express doubts
  • understand texts about travel offers
  • ask and give information when travelling
  • write a short text about a city
  • understand a movie about the German city “Erfurt”.

Intended Audience

Suitable for B2 level students, those who have completed all levels of German up to 404, or who have completed 395 hours of recent face-to-face tuition.

Delivery Style

Delivered as a series of interactive sessions where active participation is encouraged. Each session is conducted in a friendly and relaxed classroom setting.
