If you want to learn to speak German, our German classes are ideal for adult learners to enjoy a practical and social experience while you learn German language and culture. Learn German the smart way with German courses at CCE, the University of Sydney.

Suitable for those who have completed all levels up to 402 or who have completed 365 hours of recent face-to-face tuition. Designed for those learners who are able to understand the main content of complex texts, participate in discussions on specialised subjects and be able to communicate spontaneously and fluently to a native speaker.

It will utilise a range of popular texts, such as fairytales, biographies, interviews, legal texts, newspaper commentary and advertisements. You will develop your listening skills utilising, for example, radio features based on the landscape, legal matters and food in order to improve your language competency and fluency.


  • Germany, the country of castles (fairytales and biographies)
  • Legal matters, such as your rights and duties as a citizen
  • Digitisation in life, including all new electronic media devices
  • Discussing current affairs and art in depth
  • Revision of major grammar
