Level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
This course will expand on the work of German Course 101 and 102 (or equivalent). Your skills will be furthered through various class activities: talking about daily routines, about past events, asking for and giving directions and describe things. It will also improve your vocabulary for expressing your opinion, and your reading comprehension.
Outcomes
By the end of this course, you should be able to:
- talk about your daily routines and activities
- talk about past events and have some command of the Perfect Tense in German
- engage in interviews and read texts
- ask for and give directions
- describe and evaluate things
- write an email in German.
Content
- Diary use and daily activities: what did you do today?
- Festivals, parties and travel: how to read (and write) a travel-blog
- Finding your way around the city
- Talking about apartments, houses and other spaces people call 'home'
- Finding a place to stay (understanding advertisements for residential use)
Intended audience
Suitable for A1 level students, those who have completed all levels of German up to 102, or who have completed 45 hours of recent tuition.
Delivery style
Delivered as a series of interactive sessions where active participation is encouraged. Each session is conducted in a friendly and relaxed classroom environment.
