John Cumming


John started coding back in the days of perforated paper. As computers took hold he taught himself several languages and explored programming in many ways including successfully programming computers to enhance the lives of people with disabilities. Along the way, he qualified himself in ways that enhanced his skillset including an Associate Diploma in commercial data processing, certificates in Program Design and Networking, and half a masters degree.

In over thirty years of programming and data management, John has consulted for many companies large and small, including Westpac, Readers Digest, PwC, Thales and a research group for Novartis. He has, during his working life, been involved in teaching having designed courses, taught at TAFE and at Sydney and other universities at the undergraduate and post graduate levels, including helping PhD students manage research data. John has taught at CCE for more than 20 years.
