Level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

Suitable for those who have completed all levels up to 504 or who have completed 495 hours of recent face to face tuition. You should be able to understand the main content of complex texts and participate in discussions on specialised subjects.

Based on two units from the prescribed text focusing on the subject areas: ‘Charity organisations and voluntary work’ and ‘Art and Architecture’.

In Unit 5 students will learn about voluntary working options for young people in the areas of social services, the environment and the arts and will analyse the pro and cons of such options. Innovative charity projects with an environmental focus will be discussed, and information on the political and economic consequences of charity work will be analysed.

In Unit 6 students will explore architecture as an art form, including historical, contemporary, and future concepts and functions. The BAUHAUS, architectural and art movement will be looked at and discussed. Contemporary architects with an international profile together with some of their impressive buildings from across the globe will also be a focus.

Also includes a revision of essential grammar.

Suitable for B2 level students, those who have completed all levels of German up to 504 or those who have completed 495 hours of recent face-to-face tuition.

Delivery Style

The course is delivered as a series of interactive sessions where active participation is encouraged. Each session is conducted in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
