Marc Haynes

Networking is central to Marc’s successful careers as a Chartered Accountant, higher education administrator, lecturer, coach and mentor. In 1987 Marc moved from Guyana to begin university in New York City where not knowing anyone, he began to build relationships for mutual benefit.

Marc views every encounter as possibly adding to his network and has developed tools to maintain and manage these relationships. Upon relocating to Australia in 2012, Marc noticed differences in networking across the two countries but adapted and is keen to share his experiences.

Marc is currently responsible for financial reporting on all research income for the Australian National University, having held a similar role at the University of Sydney. He teaches courses at Canberra Institute of Technology and in his spare time mentors and volunteers at local charities. When not busy he is an avid mountain biker, hiker and often travels internationally to reconnect with friends.

Marc is a Chartered Accountant, and holds a Master in Public Administration from Columbia University in NYC, a Master of Science in Education from City College, CUNY and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Management from Hunter College, CUNY.

We acknowledge the tradition of custodianship and law of the Country on which the University of Sydney campuses stand. We pay our respects to those who have cared and continue to care for the Country.
