Jennifer Breukelaar

Resume

Jenny Breukelaar is the author of two novels and a forthcoming collection of short stories, as well as dozens of essays, poems and stories in online and print magazines and anthologies. While her area of specialty is literary speculative fiction, with a specific interest in slipstream and the weird, she is a fan of genre fiction at its best—a Netflix tragic, she has read more of Stephen King than anyone should, whistles the Westworld soundrack while she works, and can recite the Mighty Boosh (almost) word for word.

Jenny has PhD in Creative Writing and years of experience teaching at all levels from beginners to advanced, from the workshop setting to the university lecture theatre. Currently a sessional academic at Western Sydney University, she has also co-edited the UTS Writers Anthology, On the Side, and taught writing in New York, Christchurch and online at LitReactor.com where she is also a columnist. An expat New Yorker, she lives in Sydney with her family, and is continually inspired by the amount of talent she encounters here in the classroom, and loves to hear from her many students who go on to publish their own work.
