Denise Hantel


Denise is an experienced German teacher, who has been teaching at Australian tertiary institutions for almost 9 years. She has previously taught at Sydney University and worked as a tutor for the Women’s College. Since 2013, she has worked at the School of Humanities & Languages at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) where she has been teaching German at all language levels. She has also worked as a private tutor for adult learners, catering to a wide range of specific learner needs. Since 2015, Denise has been teaching German language courses at the Centre for Continuing Education where she is now also teaching a grammar refresher course (German Grammar Course).

Denise holds a Master of Arts with a double major in Teaching German as a Foreign Language, and English Linguistics & Literature. During her studies and beyond, she has been particularly interested in language teaching methodology, language acquisition research, grammar instruction strategies, phonetic instruction and the use of literature in the foreign language classroom. Denise loves teaching and is very passionate about language learning. She believes that learning a foreign language can broaden people’s horizons and enable them to see the world from different perspectives.
