Roberto Pettini

After studying Anthropology at Rome University, Roberto Pettini spent ten years travelling in South-East Asia and in Melanesia. In 1987 he began teaching for the UNSW Institute of Languages, and from 1997 he started to teach regularly at the Centre for Continuing Education. Roberto is very interested in promoting Italian culture. He actively collaborates in organising Italian cultural events on a regular basis in Sydney and elsewhere in NSW. His publications include The Ladies of Albion Street, an account of the experiences of a group of Italian migrant women, and Sydney and the Italian Touch, an oral history book on the impact of Italian migrants on the Harbour City in the past 50 years. He has also written numerous journal articles on his travels.
We acknowledge the tradition of custodianship and law of the Country on which the University of Sydney campuses stand. We pay our respects to those who have cared and continue to care for the Country.
