Level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

This course applies communicative methods and is suitable for anyone interested in learning to read, write, speak and understand Polish for the purpose of business or leisure. Suitable for those who have completed all levels of Polish up to 102 or 45 hours of recent face to face tuition.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify different means of transportation.
  2. Ask for and give directions to get from one place to another.
  3. Make travel arrangements.
  4. Request and give information related to travel.

Content

This course covers the following topics:

  • Travelling (means of transportation)
  • Asking for and giving directions
  • Making travel arrangements i.e. booking a hotel
  • Using formal and informal ways of telling the time
  • Using modal verbs
  • Talking about popular tourist destinations in Poland

Intended Audience

Suitable for A1 level students, or those who have completed all levels of Polish up to 102 or 45 hours of recent face-to-face tuition.

Delivery

This course is delivered as a series of interactive workshops where active participation is encouraged.

Before the course

In order to participate effectively in Polish 103, participants should have prior knowledge of Polish pronouns and present tense of common verbs, and should be able to form questions and negatives in Polish.
