This MYOB Payroll course will provide step-by-step instruction on how to set up payroll, then conduct a pay run in MYOB. It will examine current legislative requirements in each Australian state, as they relate to payroll and leave entitlements. By so doing, you will develop working knowledge for proficiently managing pay within your organisation.
This payroll course applies robust bookkeeping principles in providing tutor-led guidance through MYOB payroll systems. It will commence with basic bookkeeping and accounting principles as they relate to payroll, then how these concepts are utilised by MYOB. Payroll setup and day-to-day maintenance of employees and associated activities will be demonstrated.
You will learn how to record payroll data, eg. pay period details, any deductions and allowances, prepare payroll from these data, apply legislation from each state and handle payroll enquiries.
Aims
The aims of this course are to:
- provide you will the skills for setting up a payroll function on MYOB
- apply current state legislation and taxation requirements to the payroll function
- equip you with the skills to customise payroll categories
- instruct you on how to pay employees using MYOB
- help you deal with each of the many exceptions to a standard pay run, eg. shift penalty rates, leave entitlements, etc.
- enable you to perform special functions in MYOB payroll, eg. termination pay, superannuation and other entitlements
- allow you to perform payroll reconciliations and payroll analytics tasks.

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

Prerequisites
Knowledge of basic accounting terminology and processes, and basic computing skills.
