Italian Course 403 (Level 15)

If you want to learn to speak Italian, our Italian classes are ideal for adult learners to enjoy a practical and social experience while you learn Italian language and culture. Learn Italian the smart way with Italian courses at CCE, the University of Sydney.

Suitable for those who have completed all levels up to 402 or who have completed 345 hours of recent face to face tuition.


This course covers the following topics:

  • Summary/critique of personal/national/international events which occurred during the week preceeding each class.
  • Oral analysis of the language used by participants – correction and review of grammatical and syntactic elements which arise.
  • Students will be asked to prepare a written passage on a pre-established topic involving reading on the topic and commentary. This will be discussed in class and serves to expand vocabulary and encourage writing in Italian. The work done by students and the discussion in class will serve as a basis for review of grammar.
  • Film review – a segment of film will be viewed, interpreted and discussed to allow students to immerge themselves in its reality and its portrayal of Italian society and culture. This activity will exercises students' comprehension of the language and visual cues in film, and lead to discussion and commentary on various aspects of Italian social reality.


This course is delivered as a series of interactive workshops where active participation is encouraged.

Selected Language and Culture courses that teach spoken language may include use of language immersion (course instruction in the selected language) as part of the training strategy.
