If you want to learn to speak French, our French classes are ideal for adult learners to enjoy a practical and social experience while you learn French language and culture. Learn French the smart way with French courses at CCE, the University of Sydney.

Suitable for those who have completed all levels up to 301 or who have completed 220 hours of recent face to face tuition. This course will teach you how to protest and complain, describe life and work, and discuss parties and social events. Grammatical themes will complement your growing vocabulary through furthering your use of interrogative and demonstrative pronouns.


This course covers the following topics:

  • Régions de France
  • Outremer
  • Indicateurs de temps
  • pronoms démonstratifs (celui/celle), interrogatifs (quel/quelle) et possessifs
  • exprimer la cause, le but ou la conséquence (en raison de/ étant donné que/ afin que)
  • l’hypothèse
  • se plaindre et protester
  • The imparfait with special constructions 70
  • Could, should, would
  • Le causatif
  • Le participe present et le gérondif


This course is delivered as a series of interactive workshops where active participation is encouraged.
