Level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)


The aim of this course is to consolidate and improve knowledge through development of speaking, oral comprehension, reading and writing skills, further to those gained in previous courses. More complex grammatical structures and vocabulary will be introduced in order to expand language skills.


This course covers the following topics:

  • Regions of France
  • Outremer
  • Time indicators (Indicateurs de temps)
  • Pronoms démonstratifs (celui/celle), interrogatifs (quel/quelle) and possessifs
  • Expressing cause, purpose or consequence (en raison de/ étant donné que/ afin que)
  • L’hypothèse
  • Se plaindre et protester
  • The imparfait with special constructions 70
  • Could, should, would
  • Le causatif
  • The participe present and le gérondif

Intended Audience

Suitable for A2 level students, those who have completed all levels of French up to 301 or who have completed 220 hours of recent face-to-face tuition.

Delivery Style

This course is delivered as a series of interactive workshops where active participation is encouraged. Each session is conducted in a friendly and relaxed classroom setting.
