In order for businesses to compete in today’s market and stand out from the competition, an online presence is essential. This course offers an introduction to digital marketing. A workshop-style course with a hands-on approach, participants will be introduced to concepts and tools including Google Analytics, SEO, Google AdWords, and email marketing.

Aims

This course aims to introduce participants to the elements of digital marketing and equip them with the skills and resources to begin executing their own campaigns.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify the different types of websites and their functions.
  2. Explain the digital marketing measurement model.
  3. Install and create goals in Google Analytics.
  4. Conduct keyword research for Google AdWords and SEO.
  5. Create a text ad campaign in Google Analytics.
  6. Complete a mini SEO audit and identify opportunities for improvement.
  7. Create and send an email marketing campaign with MailChimp.

Intended Audience

This introductory digital marketing foundations course is suitable for small business owners and marketers with little to no online marketing experience who are interested in launching or redeveloping their digital marketing strategies.

Delivery Style

This course is delivered as presenter-taught computer-based training in a computer lab.

Prerequisites

Participants should have administrative access to their business website but no previous experience in digital marketing is required.

Please bring along your email login and password, as well as any other logins and passwords for social media and digital marketing platforms that you might already have.
