Reviews

The class was great! The tutor was very encouraging and was great at delivering information. Looking forward to the next term.

Course was useful and will help me with the duties I need to perform at work. I learned a lot over the three Access courses. Paul is a great teacher and the class is easy to follow. Thumbs up to new caterer as well :)

I have had two previous Polish Teachers, but Agnieszka is by far the best. I can not praise her enough.

Ekin is the best french teacher I have ever had!

Bruno offered a good mix of oral, written and read French instruction. He required that students participate, but was sensitive to our abilities – an excellent tutor.

Carmen was a fantastic teacher, and the conversation style class is a great way to develop your language skills.

James is an absolutely fantastic teacher. He made the course. He is the reason I am continuing on studying there, he’s amazing!

Great learning experience, I would definitely recommend the course to others.

The discussions in Kerry Sanders' classes are always robust and good humoured. While the lecture notes are coherent, there is a high level of participation so it feels more like a discussion than a lecture.

Brilliant Teaching.

Was great! The teacher was superb. Very very good.

Nejmeh is a great teacher. I really liked the way she arranged the lessons and I got a lot out of it. I’m looking forward to Level 1 Arabic.

I thought our teacher was fantastic. Enthusiastic and had a love of teaching the language.

Ms Lee, is very professional and knowledgable in teaching Korean. She has great skill in teaching and conveying the concepts of the language to us students whilst maintaining a fun, enjoyable learning environment.

Katia has infinite good humour!

Kerry Sanders is always great value. I appreciate her ability to give us practical and often funny illustrations of the abstract concepts she is imparting to me. I will go to other courses Kerry offers.

Provocative introduction with a wealth of interesting notes thanks.

The tutor, Marina Campbell, is an absolute pleasure as a teacher as she structures an exceptionally well thought out course that guides us through the difficulties and eccentricities of Russian grammar. I have done many courses trying to relearn my native language with mixed results. This is the first time I have felt that I am gaining all the information I need to speak and write confidently in Russian. I am delighted with the course, the way Marina structures the information and with the way she so pleasantly and intelligently delivers the material, gently but firmly coaxing us to use the language with growing confidence.

This is a great course and the tutor was very good at making the course understandable and enjoyable.

Course interesting & well presented by the tutor.

James Bourne was an amazing teacher – he had a really deep understanding of French, including the etymology of the words. I absolutely loved his lessons.

Ekin Ozlu Akseki is a wonderful teacher – extremely knowledgable about her craft, approachable, patient, enouraging, friendly and funny. She makes adult learning a real pleasure, and wraps up the art of language in a fun package, while at the same time obviously imparting serious lessons.

My tutor Cintia Agosti was exceptional. I learnt an incredible amount and she should be commended for her patience, drive, intelligence and clarity of communication. It was fantastic!

Excellent course. The tutor was most impressive in teaching a difficult subject effectively and with humour.

Thanks very much john, good course and balanced well with the SQL level 1 course. Glad that i did both of the courses as both were excellent.

Steve is helpful, friendly, very professional, and all you could want in a good customer service rep!

Kerry Sanders is a wonderfully gifted teacher. I am very lucky to have experienced her course.

Jacqueline was a very effective communicator and really knew how to diseminate her knowledge to me as a student. I have really increased my skills after this 10 weeks.

Jacqueline Murguet’s style of teaching and encouragement played a major part in wanting to continue from Level 101 to Level 102 and complete both levels. Merci beaucoup to her!

I think it was Vicki that helped me, she was brilliant. The staff within the office always do their best and are lovely to deal with.

This was the best ‘community education’ course I’ve been to. It was jam-packed with new learning, a very knowledgable and intuitive teacher, held in a gorgeous space. I will be telling everyone how great this course was! I’d like to see an ongoing series of courses on visual journalling and art therapy. Thankyou!

After leaving school far too early and wondering what it could be like to do something I enjoy for years, I’ve finally decided to take a step toward something new and enrol in UPC Psych and Literature with intent to eventually get into a degree course. I’m TERRIFIED and also very excited! Actually, more terrified than excited. Not knowing what to expect and all the rest. Not knowing how to do an exam! Gee whiz! I’m glad that I’ll be doing it here though! - Megan M

I find the enrolment process quite straight forward. I used to enrol on the phone before, but now I tend to do it online as it is very easy. - Theresa

The enrolment process is fine, transparent and easy to navigate. Information is comprehensive and sufficiently brief. I was particularly impressed when I received a phone call from Steve in enrolments alerting me to the Wagner in Dresden course after I made a suggestion for more ‘in-depth’ courses in music history. - John F

My mom is Chinese. What a shame that I can’t speak Chinese. I decided to start Mandarin course at CCE because I really like Sydney Uni (especially the new Law library and Taste Cafe). - Khanh T

I consider the Centre for Continuing Education a wonderful opportunity to add depth and breadth to studying. There are so many interesting and attractive courses to choose from, it’s difficult to make a decision, ( due to course fees ) ! I am on the waiting list for ‘The Art of the Essay’. I’m so excited about this course as it covers finding your unique voice, editing, structure and the differences between itself and other forms of creative writing. This is so important as developing theses talents is essential to university studies. I can’t wait ! Thanks CCE. - Melissa T

The courses are fantastic and the teachers are also fantastic! - Bill N

The language courses at CCE is what grabbed my attention. I plan to enroll in french 101 at CCE, my partner is French and in France currently and i want to learn at least the basics before i travel there myself to meet his family and close knit friends, it will all be a little less daunting when i have some understanding of the language. Self-learning can only take you so far and i need the guidance of a structured course and topics. - Alexandra A

I would love to have the experience to broaden my academic horizons via CCE. I’ve heard great things about it, and money has always been an issue in signing up to these courses I’d love to go to. As much as I love the HSC and its syllabus, I am anxiously awaiting these kinds of educational experiences that organisations such as CCE offer and might help fill the knowledge “void” I current feel! - Kaitlyn D

CCE sounds very interesting and i am really excited to be taking a few courses next year. After pursuing a professional tennis career for 5 years, i am glad to know that there is such an organisation out there, that can assist me in entering University in the near future. Thank you CCE.

It has always been my dream to become fluent in a language other than English. My choice would be to learn Spanish as it is spoken in many places in the world that I would love to visit. - Ray L

Just did the Quarks To The Cosmos course, listened, learned and loved it! I’m inspired to keep learning, discovering new things and look forward to more instances where I say to myself, 'wow I can’t believe it'! - Andrew C

I started my career as a copywriter but as I was a very sensitive soul and having the worst mentor ever, she basically killed my passion for writing. I felt suffocated each time I tried to write as it brings back a lot of bad memories of work for me. I hope a course in Creative Writing will make me shed those bitter memories and get me to start writing again. - Kevin B

I thoroughly enjoyed studying Spanish at the CCE. Great courses, great teacher and good fun. I need to stop delaying my return for another course! - Gary C

Would love to do some courses through CCE. Am a 58 year old who has not worked for the past few years due to caring for disabled husband and my brain is turning to mush! Would like to exercise my brain and at the same time show my grandchildren that you are never to old to learn (and maybe keep up with technology). - Bronwyn C

I’ve done a couple of courses through CCE. From my experience therewith, I can say that the courses provided are stimulating, engaging and knowledgeable. I think CCE is awesome and enjoy the Movies now course. - Jane A

I like CCE because it is not pretentious and it is straight forward. The people I have spoken to whilst asking about courses are kind, laid back and encouraging – great for someone like myself who left school in Grade 8 without completing any qualifications (who feels nervous about the idea of returning to study). I will be taking a Spanish course at some point and hopefully the UPC, so that I can work on getting a degree/education and better opportunities in life. I wanted to attend The University of Sydney as a child and now that I have worked on getting myself in order after a crazy decade, it’s time to get my education in order and get out into the world to show it what I’ve got! Be the change I want to see and benefit society with learned skills and knowledge. CCE would be a great starting point for my goal. - Megan M

David Stratton’s “History Of World Cinema” starting in February covering 1934-1936! Or the “Bette Davis Day” equally with the great Mr. D. Sratton! Keep the good ideas coming! You are doing great work, CCE!!

Enrolment process. Simple and easy to follow. Well done. - Laura

How could you make it any simpler or easier? - Robert

This was a very easy and straight forward process. I found exactly the course I wanted which was excellent. I had enrolled in a course with another organization and had had the course cancelled within 36 hours of starting – the course was for 4 weeks, 4 days a week so I felt very let down. I was so happy to find this course.

I have been doing the Kerry Sanders philosophy courses for three years: brilliant. - C McCoy

All your organisation and information is excellent. Can’t begin to say how much I enjoy Robert Gay’s courses – he has a fantastic personality and really makes the music and composer come alive for us. - Herti V

I would like to say that the course I did with Xavier was excellent. Thank you very much for your assistance with my enrolment. - Margaret M

I have just finished Mark Tredinnik's Creative Writing Masterclass, the 5 days at Women’s College. It was superb. I have done them before and they have all been never less than excellent. - Peter B

I think what you’re offering in the way of short courses is absolutely brilliant and very innovative. - Caroline H

From my point of view, your online process makes finding and enrolling very easy, thank you.

Sydney Uni’s course is better value for money! Also enrolment was so easy...almost too easy! Thank you. - Mary

Very happy with the enrolment process, it was extremely easy and efficient. I’m very much looking forward to the course. - Suzanne

This is my first time enrolling online and I found the process quite painless and non traumatic (I am really not a technophobe, just very cautious) - Paul K

This was a really interactive and stimulating course. I enjoyed the small group setting, and the training location and catering was of a very high standard. The facilitator really made the course fantastic for me. His passion for the editing and proofreading inspired my interest and helped me develop my skills in this topic. I have definitely been able to apply my new skills to my administration role in Human Resources. Thank you. - Keryl

Everything was pretty straight forward. I was on a waiting list and I got an email. That was quite handy as I don’t like navigating through uni websites because there’s just so much on those websites and usually it’s hard to navigate to post-grad, short course section. Although Uni of Sydney does it better than all the other Sydney-based uni’s that I’ve seen. - Aleksandra

Good website. Easy to scroll through to select courses. - Paul

[The enrolment process] was so easy, quick and informative. I look forward to doing other courses after this one. - Paul S

He’s a credit to your department and I look very much forward to my follow-up Master Class on Aboriginal Art with the very capable Mr Darby. - Erica S

I really loved the Crime Writing Workshop I attended this weekend, and the other writing workshops look great, and I really would love to do them… My fees for the workshop were a birthday gift from my parents, and it is the best birthday present I can remember. (Even better than the 2 wheeler bicycle I got when I was 6!) - Leah
